Simple Berry Syrup

A simple syrup that can be used in drinks or thickened and used as a topping for waffles or pancakes.
Ingredients
  • 2 Cups Water
  • 1lb Berries (about 21/2 cups)
  • 1 Cup of Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon lemon/lime Juice
Instructions
  1. Add water and berries to a saucepan.
  2. Heat until boiling, then reduce heat to medium and simmer for 20 Minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and strain.
  4. Pour juice back into saucepan with sugar and lemon/lime juice.
  5. Heat until sugar dissolves and mixture boils, then remove from heat.
  6. Cool and pour into a container.
  7. Can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
