Meg Meg and Her Puppies!

THE PUPPIES ARE HERE EEEEK!

This has been right up there with the birth of my own kids!   Meg Meg, our chocolate lab, was in labor for the whole day before she finally gave into the fact that she was having babies, mostly due to Kaly’s expertise in relaxing doggie-natal massage.  Who knew Kaly was such a natural midwoof?! The pups started arriving at 3 am on July 25th, and the last tiny girl came at around 1 pm.  In total there are 5 boys and 6 girls. It was a long hard night and day for everyone, but thankfully there were no complications.  Each pup came out lively and kickin’! Pretty amazing to be apart of so many new little lives coming into the world, and Meg Meg has taken to being a mama, amazingly.  It will be soooo hard letting them go, but I think there is a special girl in the bunch that we will keep for snuggling and kitchen floor clean up. And luckily, the pups will go to friends and family, so we can visit them from time to time!

And as you can imagine the boys can’t get enough of these babies!

Their first solid meal was a feeding frenzy, and then they went right into nap mode after they licked the bowls clean!
