A little bit about us…
Food, in all shapes and forms, has always been a constant inspiration and passion to us both. Coming from a long line of marvelous cooks who use food as their language of love, we came to the realization that we wanted to share our food obsessed hearts in a bigger, bloggier way; thus, Romancing The Onion was born. We invite you to come with us on our food journeys to discover not only the best recipes, but the layers and stories from which they are made. We are also delighted to dish out other worthwhile juicy tidbits that we stumble upon, in this onion we call life!
Kaly here! I enjoy the small things in life like melty caramel and dark chocolate covered somethings, and of course that feeling of being in the kitchen when something magical is being whipped up. While I have no formal culinary training, I enjoy creating and perfecting tasty treats/making a mess in my kitchen. I also enjoy figuring out the techy side behind the website and the camera lens. I have a handsome live-in taste tester (aka my hubby Jake) and our furball of a yellow lab, Ellie, to keep me company in my kitchen. Hope you enjoy all our foodie madness as much as we do. -Kaly
Hi I’m Ashley. Aside from the obvious love for food and family, I am pretty into Laffy Taffy jokes, koalas, traveling, and cheese. Mmm cheese is my favorite…I’m warning you now, I will try and sneak extra cheese in wherever I can, and I am not sorry. I’m always looking for a new culinary adventure, and while I have a Hospitality/Culinary Arts Degree, and spent the past 10 years working the restaurant and catering game, I will forever consider myself a student trying to enhance my skills! My main kitchen helpers and biggest critics are my two rad little dudes, Patrick and Collin and husband James. We also have a handy live in floor cleaner, Meg Meg, the chocolate lab.
